I made it all the way through college without drinking coffee.  I didn’t even drink it at my first job in Philly when there was a Starbucks a block away!  Oh, how things have changed.  At some point in the last four years at Near West I became a COFFEE ADDICT.  Maybe it was the Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker we got for our wedding.  Or the fact that the delicious Gypsy Beans and Baking Co. was just steps from my office. Either way, I am officially addicted.

This became especially evident yesterday.  I forgot to reset my alarm and woke up late.  No time to make coffee at home or stop at McDonald’s for a delicious medium Vanilla Iced Coffee (my FAVORITE cheap summer coffee beverage choice).  Two hours into the day, I was feeling fine and decided not to make a stop of Gypsy before my production staff meeting.  BIG MISTAKE.  By about 1 p.m., I was feeling exhausted- could not stop yawning.  You would have thought I had only slept 3 hours the night before (when really I had gotten a good 8 hours!).  By 4 p.m., I was not only exhausted but feeling cranky- just the coworker everybody wants to be around- and by 5:30 p.m. I was on the couch with a massive headache looking to Henry for some kind of solace (he offered none).  What a crappy day.

If I was under the dillusion that I was in the control of my coffee addiction, I was sadly mistaken.  Does this mean I’m going to stop?  Probably not.  I really only have one cup a day- that’s not so bad, right????

So, are you a coffee addict?  Or are you judging me for my addiction???
